Early Silver Dollar Mintages

After an extremely low mintage for the first silver dollar issued by the United States Mint, production levels generally grew in future years making the coins somewhat more available.
Across the Flowing Hair and Draped Bust designs, the lowest mintage circulation issue is the 1794 silver dollar at 1,758 pieces. Production reached its highest level with the 1799 silver dollar at 423,515. The 1804 Silver Dollar was produced under special circumstances and only has 12 pieces currently known.
Regardless of mintage level, these early silver dollars are extremely scarce in uncirculated grades and generate high levels of interest from collectors when encountered as such.
